Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintaining all kitchen equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance. Must be creative is designing buffet food presentations. Prepares recipes as directed. Must take direction well. Maintains full knowledge of food items pertinent to the event. Maintains a safe, clean, organized and stocked work areas. Must have the ability to work with other staff members in the facility, to undertake and complete multiple tasks, to be creative with food presentations and maintain a quality product. Must have attention to detail. Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils. Cook, plates, and/or package batches of food. Cook for exact number of items ordered. Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas. Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared. Operate large cooking equipment. Wash, cut and prepare food designated for cooking. Clean, stock and restock workstations. Keep assigned area in kitchen clean and organized. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises temporary labor staff. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or GED At least one (1) year experience and/or training Must have a valid Food Handlers permit Skills and Abilities Ability to work with other staff members in the facility. Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks. Ability to be creative with buffet food presentations and maintain a quality product. Attention to detail. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays. Must have a valid Food Handlers permit. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
